My Pilates Philosophy

Updated: Oct 30, 2021

I am passionate about quality movement and the power of exercise. My desire to spread the word about this astounding method of movement and to reach more people has led me to set up more private, small group classes.

I have bags of enthusiasm, energy, commitment and imagination for my classes and I firmly believe everyone should have an amazing Pilates experience every time they set foot into one of my classes.

I have Three clear teaching principles!

1. MOVEMENT NEEDS TO BE FUN AND VARIED.

We can't take this too seriously, it's not brain surgery, its simply movement. Yes intelligent movement and it can have a profound effects but we are still only teaching people to move more freely, with ease, strength and stability. It's my opinion that people won't come back if it's boring.

2. EDUCATE, EDUCATE, EDUCATE!

I believe one of my strengths lye's in being an effective communicator. Along with patience, empathy, and dedication. All incredibly important attributes in a teaching environment. Imparting knowledge in an effective, engaging way is a real skill. I have experienced training from some superb teachers, Michael King, Brent Anderson and Alan Herdman. This inspirational people have shaped and developed my way of communicating. I am also meticulous about continually reading, watching and learning from others.

3. NEW DIRECTION, EVERY LESSON!

Each week I make a point of having a different theme or focus. Perhaps a different prop or muscle. It maybe that I'm accommodating newcomers, injuries or stress. Whatever the vibe of the class, they will all walk out having forward flexed, extended, rotated and laterally flexed their spines. It's that simple.
